Gitea is one of the few self-hosted opensource platforms around, yet Git's integration with Jira lacks the most useful features you find with other platforms (branching, triggers, etc).

It'll be really handy to have those features available for Gitea as well.

I'd love to see this as well. It should make it much easier to configure multiple repositories, as right now I have to configure the URL, keys, and all of the links to view commits, branches etc manually and separately for each.
I don't particularly need branching from Jira or automation.
We also need GIJ as a native webhook in Gitea in order to send indexing webhooks. Perhaps GitKraken could develop that and submit it to Gitea.

Thanks for the request, Natanael! This is one we've definitely talked about. You mentioned branching and triggers. Is there any other critical functionality you would hope would be included?

John Nelson: The things that would help the most will be the ability to create branches from the Jira issues. Other things like moving a task forward on pull-request or merges would be really useful, but it is something that at least can be currently done with webhooks

Michael Schramm, RobinM: No firm updates yet, but I will commit to exploring this with the team in the next quarter. I'll update here if that exploration becomes a plan to implement.
